Regular Monthly Meeting
September 14, 2021
Meeting called to order at 5:30 p.m. by Mayor Guenard.
Roll Call: Saari-present, Cummings-present, Traczyk-present, Thomas-present.
It was verified by the Clerk that the Agenda had been properly posted.
Motion by Thomas, supported by Traczyk to approve the Agenda as written. Motion Carried. All Ayes.
Motion by Saari, supported by Thomas to approve the Minutes for the Regular Monthly Meeting of July 13, 2021. Motion Carried. All Ayes.
Motion by Saari supported by Traczyk to approve the Financial Statement for August and Checks Written for September 2021. Motion Carried. All Ayes.
Mayor Resignation- Guenard accepted a new job at The University of Wisconsin–Stout in Menomonie, Wisconsin. He will begin this new job on October 1, 2021, so he will no longer be a resident of Montreal, WI as of September 30. A new mayor will take over the position on October 1, 2021. Motion by Cummings, supported by Saari to accept the resignation. Motion carried. All Ayes.
Appoint Replacement Mayor As Of September 30, 2021 - The Common Council President will become the active Mayor after a resignation unless the council appoints a different member. Thomas will be acting Mayor unless another council member is appointed. Motion by Cummings, supported by Saari to appoint Traczyk as the Mayor. Vote Saari – Yes, Cummings- Yes, Traczyk- Yes, Thomas-No. Motion carried. The Common Council appoints Kelly Traczyk as Mayor starting October 1, 2021.
Discussion/Action On Request From the organization, NICER, For A Donation For The Spooky Halloween Trail Walk- Motion by Thomas, supported by Traczyk to donate $50 to the Halloween Trail Walk. Saari is a member of the NICER board, due to a conflict of interest he abstained from voting, Cummings-Yes, Traczyk-Yes, Thomas-Yes. Motion carried.
Discussion/Action CDBG Income Surveys-Income survey will be sent out to the residents soon. A reminder letter will be included in the quarterly water bills.
Foreman Haeger's Report-It was a pleasure working with Guenard, great things have been done in the City, Thank you. Haeger discussed the sanitary survey. The tank inspection is due for the 5-year inspection. The City has always used Lane Tank. The council will seek other bids for the inspection.
A special meeting will be held on Thursday, September 16 at 5:30 p.m. to discuss and possibly approve road bids from Angelo Luppino to patch roads in both Montreal and Gile.
Public Comment- Comments and discussions took place regarding the radio communication survey, road repair, CDBG Surveys, congratulations to the first female mayor of Montreal, and a thank you to Mayor Guenard for his service.
Councilmember Comment- Thank you, Erik.
Mayor Comment- Every year the City has moved forward. I’m excited to step back and see what happens in the future. Thank you.

Motion by Thomas, supported by Traczyk to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried. All Ayes.
