Regular City Council Meeting Held
April 16, 2019
In attendance: Steve Fiene, John Kangas, Gerry Nasi, Marie Swartz, Stan Mrozinski
Meeting called to order at 5:30 P.M. by Mayor Erik Guenard.
Roll Call: Berglund-Absent, Levra- Present, Thomas-Present, Swartz-Present.
It was attested by the Clerk that the Agenda had been posted at the City Hall, Montreal and Gile Post Office, the two local radio stations, Iron County Miner.
Motion by Thomas, supported by Swartz to approve the Agenda as written. Motion Carried. All Ayes.
Motion by Levra, supported by Thomas to approve the Minutes for the Regular Monthly Meeting of March 12, 2019. Motion Carried. All Ayes.
Motion by Levra, supported by Thomas to approve the March Financial Statement and bills written for April. Motion Carried. All Ayes
Cash on Hand March 1, 2019 219,181.66 Receipts 3,379.00
Cash on Hand April 1, 2019 170,726.59
Discussion was in regard to hiring Summer Help It was decided that the City will hire 2 Part Time Summer Helpers with Spring Cleaning to be held for 2 weeks. Motion by Swartz, supported by Thomas to advertise for 2 Summer Temporary Helpers at 30 hours per week with the person being at least 16 and having a valid driver license. Motion Carried. All Ayes.
Motion by Thomas, supported by Levra to accept proposal of $7,620.00 from Howard Brothers to Replace 8” Tee in Pump House per specifications. Motion Carried. All Ayes.
A quote of $6,520.00 was presented from McCoy Construction and Forestry for work to be done on the Sewer Vactor. This item has been tabled as one Councilmember was absent.
Discussion was held on the Water/Sewer System. It was noted that there is a pool in the parking lot of City Hall which is a result of water flowing into the Sewer System and the City Crew is taking precautionary measures. The Mayor would like to see Dye testing done this summer to see what exactly is going into the Sewer System.
CORRESPONDENCE-The City was awarded a check from FEMA in the amount of $3,206.00 as a reimbursement for protective measures due to recent storms.

Stan Mrozinski-what is the protocol for running water in the winter
Levra-status on boat launch stickers, bumpers. Would like to see a sign on the dock with prices for stickers.
Thomas-would like to clear up that Kayaks will not be charged to use boat launch.
Swartz-Looked at a truck at the County similar to the one they are selling and it did not look bad.
The “No Parking” signs on Nimikon have to be put up as they all came down over the winter.
MAYOR COMMENT-Would like to see everyone more involved on the Committee level.
